AS a black woman, I’d like to think I’ve done all there is to do to my hair, name a hairstyle, within reason of course, and I’ve probably rocked it! Yes I’ve been bold, braided, weaved, had an afro, had a cut, I mean at some point, if it was in it was on my head! LOL. And then somewhere along the line I got tired of keeping up, luckily for me it was at a time when natural hair was the new cool.
I really struggled with my afro, though I loved it so, maintaining it was a pain and the lack of products specifically made for black natural hair were few and far between, you almost had to know someone who knew someone who knew something or some store God knows where where they sold this or that that was said to be great for black hair. It was a pain.
So I chose to lock my hair.
When I got the new Clicks Afri True brand in the mail to review I was over the moon. There is nothing easier to fall in love with than something that has been made specifically with you in mind.
Soon after I readied myself for my next salon visit and here’s how it went:
SHAMPOO
Afri True Conditioning Argan Shampoo, 50ml sachet is enriched with Jojoba and Argan Oils and a Hair Moisture Complex to gently cleanse, remove build up and moisturise hair and scalp to leave hair soft and tangle free.
The Argan oils which form part of all the products in this range steal the show in as far as scent is concerned. At the same time though it is a gentle scent that also leaves you feeling like something luxurious is happening on your head.
Argan oil is an oil produced from the kernels of the Argan tree, endemic to Morocco. It is valued for its nutritive and cosmetic properties. Argan oil is proven to make hair softer, silkier and shinier. It is the ideal hair conditioner, and it can even help to treat split ends and tame frizzy hair.
The Shampoo costs: R14.95
CONDITIONER
Afri True Ultra Nourishing Deep Conditioning Treatment, 50ml sachet is enriched with Shea Butter, Argan, Coconut and Jojoba Oils is a deep conditioning treatment to nourish and relieve dry scalp and help promote hair growth. Feel the intense tingle as it works.
The conditioner costs: R14.95
BEESWAX
Afri True Beeswax, 125ml tub is enriched with Vitamin E, Carrot, Argan and Coconut Oils to moisturise scalp and hair, seal dreadlock ends, fight hair frizz and give shine to natural hair and weaves. Use to create and maintain dreadlocks and control flyaway hair.
The beeswax costs: R24.95
LIGHT OIL SHEEN
Afri True Light Oil Sheen Spray, 275ml can is enriched with Lanolin and Argan Oil to condition hair, moisturise scalp and give a light sheen, body and volume to hair.
The light oil sheen spray costs: R29.95
MOISTURISER
Afri True Moisturising Hair Lotion, 250 ml is enriched with Olive, Argan and Coconut Oils and a Hair Moisture Complex to moisturise scalp, deep condition dry, damaged hair and protect hair from daily chemical processes and styling tools.
The moisturiser costs: R29.95
All in all I’d recommend these products to anyone with African hair, mainly because that’s their hook. I grew weary of beauty store aisles flooded with Caucasian hair products of enormous variety, that’s part of the pain that was added to my afro days. So to know that there is a product out there that has the natural state of my hair in mind as well as the versatility that is a luxury to African women, one can’t help but fall in love with this brand.

With havin so much written content have you ever come across any issues of plagorism or
copyright violation? My blog has a lot of unique content I’ve either written myself or outsourced but it seems like a
lot of it is popping it throughout the web without my authorization. Have you figured
out any ways to help you stop content from being stolen? I’d
really appreciate it.
Hi
I haven’t come across any problems, I always make sure I use original content, and where I don’t I attribute to the source. As for checking on any of my work popping up elsewhere…to be honest, I haven’t done that at all. So perhaps I should consider putting some copyright mechanisms in place. Thank you for that 🙂
Excellent blog! Have you got any tips and hints for aspiring writers?
I’m planning to start my own, personal site soon but
I’m just a little lost on everything. Do you propose beginning with a no cost platform like WordPress or choose a
paid option? There are numerous choices on the market that I’m completely overwhelmed ..
Any ideas? Bless you!
Hi
Thank you so much for visiting!I’m glad you are enjoying the blog. I’d say, definitely, while you are still starting out, start with a blog hosting site that’s free, like WordPress – it’s easier to navigate. That way you get to play around with themes, get a sense of what you like and what direction you want your blog to go, and only when you know for sure that you can sustain the posts and the content I’d advise you take the leap and get your own site.
I hope that helped.

Can the afri true beeswax be used on non african curly hair
Hi there
Unfortunately I can not say for sure if this product is suitable for non-African curly hair. At first glance I’d say not, but you never know. Give it a try. All the best.
